Seeking a new Director for Companion Voices

Companion Voices (CV) is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company that offers comfort and companionship to people at the end of life through bedside singing. Building on the pioneering work of its founder, Judith Silver, the organisation has grown over the past decade from a single group to thirteen local groups, with further expansion planned. Established as a CIC in 2019, CV operates with a clear mission, a membership model, and a Board of Directors supporting local groups with training, guidance, and mentoring.

In the past year, Companion Voices has sung at nearly fifty bedsides, expanded its learning and outreach activities, launched new local groups, updated its songbook, and held an annual in-person retreat.

With increasing activity and ambition, CV is seeking additional support, particularly new Board members with a range of skills, to help ensure the organisation’s sustainability and continued growth. The organisation welcomes engagement from individuals who share its belief in the power of singing to bring comfort at the end of life.

Even if becoming a Director is not for you, it would be very helpful to us if you would consider supporting our work in other ways and encourage people in your network who might be interested in joining our Board to contact us. If you share our belief in the power of singing at the end of life and want to support us, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us for an informal conversation about involvement, whether as a Director or through other forms of support, using our e-mail address – cic@companionvoices.org

If you are interested in finding out more, we are holding an open meeting on Monday 2 March 26 at 4pm on zoom, where you can meet Judith and Julie for an informal conversation. Please let us know if you would like to come and join us.

Thank you.

Warmest Wishes,

Judith Silver,
Founder and Chief Executive of Companion Voices
